Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington has been an Greek American columnist, author and businesswoman for over 20 years. She was the founder of The Huffington Post and the chief executive officer of Thrive Global. Author of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington is an writer, philanthropist and television host, and owner of The Huffington Post. Her birthplace was in Greece and moved to England when she was sixteen. At Cambridge University, she graduated with a MA of Economics. The first graduate from outside the UK to be elected the president of The Cambridge Union at the age 21. When she graduated, she made her name as an editorialist for the conservative syndicate and, with the launching of The Huffington Post' few years later, she launched an online voice portal which gave critical opinions regarding the state of affairs. Her popularity helped her to convince several stars to voice their views about current affairs, culture and politics. Arianna became famous after she decided in 2003 to stand as an independent candidate in the California Recall election to succeed former Governor Davis. Apart from this she also was the leader of the Detroit initiative to encourage the use of fuel-efficient cars. Forbes named her one of the "most important women" within the field of media and ranked her 12th. Guardian placed her on their list of the 100 top media personalities in 2009. AOL Inc. bought The Huffington Post in 2011 and named her head of its media division and also included several additional AOL brands like Engadget AOL Music Style list and Patch Media. Their parents are Elli as well as Konstantinos Stasinopoulos, who was a consultant in management as well as a journalist. Even though she was close with her father, the relationship she had with her mother shaped the course of her entire life. Even in her formative age she demonstrated her leadership skills for which she's still known. In her 16th year, she returned to the UK to study and enrolled at Girton College Cambridge. She joined the Cambridge Union college debate society during her time at college and was the third and first female to serve as the president. In 1972, she earned an education in Economics. Following her graduation, she was employed as a critic for a newspaper column and a television host. Also, she appeared on the show Face the music along with Bernard Levin and began writing books, utilizing editorial guidance from him.
